SJC Extension Sends Off 116 Graduates in Class of 2008
On Saturday 7 June 2008, St. John’s College Extension held its official commencement exercises for the class of 2008 at the Landivar Gymnasium.The Extension had 116 men and women who received their high school equivalency Certificate of General Educational Development. Roxanna Garcia, student with the highest overall GPA in the Class of 2008, delivered the Welcome Address and Brenda Armstrong, principal of Wesley College delivered the Address to Graduates. Outgoing director of the Extension, Miguel Wong, was recognized for his eighteen years of service to the Extension and was presented with a plaque of appreciation for outstanding service to SJC.
Lois Barber new director of SJC Extension Department
St. John’s College is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Lois Barber as director of the Extension Department, with effect from August 1, 2008. Ms. Barber has been serving as Assistant Director of the Extension since January of this year.
Prior to joining the St. John’s College community, Ms. Barber was a Curriculum Supervisor at the Belize District Education Center. A trained teacher, Ms. Barber taught at Holy Redeemer Upper School for most of her teaching career.
Ms. Barber brings to the Extension a trove of experience and organizational skills, which will continue to build on the tradition of meeting the needs of diverse learners established by Mr. Miguel Wong, Fr. Timothy Thompson, Fr. John Stochl, and other Extension directors. read more
